Every card, built for a purpose
Virtual for online, physical for in-person, team cards for departments. Each one comes with controls you actually use.

Team spend
₦1,240,000
Cards for online spending
Issue in seconds. Perfect for subscriptions, software, and one-time purchases.
Cards for in-person spending
For team members who pay at the counter. Accepted everywhere.
Cards for every department
Set budgets per person, per category, per month. See everything in one view.
Cards on your phone
Add virtual cards to your phone's payment app. Pay from your device.
Where they can spend
Lock a card to specific merchant types. A travel card can only be used for transport and hotels.
How much they can spend
Set limits per transaction, per day, or per month. The card stops working at the limit.
Freeze in one tap
Lost card? Suspected fraud? Freeze it instantly. Unfreeze when the problem is solved.
Petty cash was never designed for this
Cash in an envelope cannot carry a category restriction. A personal card reimbursed later cannot be tracked in real time. A company card without limits is a trust exercise, not a control. Expense cards fix all three.
Limits that cannot be exceeded
Every card carries a cap: by total amount, by transaction, by category, by merchant or by time window. The limit is enforced at the point of sale, not discovered after the fact in a spreadsheet.
Every transaction, visible in real time
A card swipe appears on your dashboard within seconds. You see the amount, the merchant, the category and the remaining balance, without waiting for a bank statement.
Category locks that actually work
A card restricted to fuel and transport will not work at a restaurant. A card locked to office supplies will not work at a petrol station. The restriction is enforced by the payment network, not by trust.
From issue to use, in four steps
Issue the card
Virtual or physical, for a staff member, a department or a project. Set the name, the limit and any restrictions before the card is activated.
Set the rules
Total limit, per-transaction limit, category restrictions, merchant restrictions, time window. Each card can have its own combination of rules.
Hand it over
The staff member uses the card for the intended purpose. The rules enforce themselves at the point of sale, so nobody has to remember what the card is for.
Monitor and adjust
Every transaction appears in real time. Increase a limit, add a restriction or freeze the card from the same screen, without waiting for a call centre.
What changes when cards carry their own rules
The usual way
- Petty cash that nobody can track reliably
- Staff using personal cards and claiming later
- No way to enforce what a card is used for
- End-of-month surprises from unchecked spending
- A spreadsheet nobody updates in real time
With Niimbu
- Cards with built-in limits, visible in real time
- Each card restricted to the categories it is meant for
- Limits enforced at the point of sale, not after the fact
- Every transaction visible the moment it happens
- Exportable transaction history for reconciliation
The card details that real teams need
No add-on modules and no higher tier to unlock the basics. These are part of expense cards from the first day you open an account.
Virtual cards
Issue instantly for online payments, subscriptions and one-off purchases. No physical card needed.
Physical cards
For staff who need to pay in person. Tap, swipe or insert at any terminal that accepts cards.
Total amount limits
Set a ceiling per card. Once the limit is reached, the card stops working until you adjust it.
Per-transaction limits
Cap the size of any single purchase, so a card meant for small expenses cannot be used for a large one.
Category restrictions
Lock a card to fuel, office supplies, transport or any combination. Enforced at the network level.
Merchant restrictions
Allow a card to work only at specific merchants or merchant categories.
Time windows
Set a card to work only during business hours, on specific days or within a date range.
Freeze and unfreeze
Instantly disable a card without deleting it. Re-enable when needed, with the full history preserved.
Transaction feed
Every swipe, every amount, every merchant, every category. Filterable and exportable.
Every team spends differently
The categories, the limits and the restrictions change by trade. Pick the closest fit.
Retail and supermarkets
Issue store-level cards for small purchases, fuel cards for delivery vehicles, and office cards for admin, each with its own limit.
Restaurants and food
Kitchen cards locked to food suppliers and fuel, service cards for delivery, and admin cards for office supplies.
Distribution and wholesale
Field cards for drivers locked to fuel and tolls, office cards for supplies, and manager cards for client entertainment.
Construction and contracting
Site cards for materials, fuel cards for equipment, and office cards for admin, each restricted to its purpose.
Professional services
Client entertainment cards with monthly caps, travel cards for flights and hotels, and office cards for supplies.
Expense management software
See how Niimbu compares with petty cash, personal card reimbursements and manual expense tracking.
A limit set in advance beats an approval asked for under pressure.
Petty cash runs on trust and paperwork, and the paperwork always arrives late. A card that carries its own rules records the spend at the moment it happens, and nobody has to be chased for a form.

Frequently asked questions
If your question is not here, the Help Centre goes deeper, or you can talk to someone on the team.
What is the difference between virtual and physical cards?
Virtual cards exist in your Niimbu account and can be used for online payments, subscriptions and any transaction that accepts card details. Physical cards are actual cards that can be tapped, swiped or inserted at any terminal. Both carry the same limits and restrictions.
How do category restrictions work?
When you issue a card, you can restrict it to specific spending categories: fuel, office supplies, transport, food, or any combination. The restriction is enforced at the payment network level, so the card will be declined at a merchant outside the allowed categories.
Can I set different limits for different cards?
Yes. Each card has its own total limit, per-transaction limit and time window. A field card might have a ₦50,000 monthly cap with a ₦10,000 per-transaction limit, while an office card has a ₦200,000 monthly cap with no per-transaction restriction.
Can I freeze a card without deleting it?
Yes. Freezing a card instantly prevents any new transactions. The card can be unfrozen at any time, with its full history and remaining balance preserved. This is useful when a card is temporarily not needed or if a staff member is on leave.
How quickly do transactions appear?
Card transactions appear on your dashboard within seconds of the sale. You see the amount, the merchant, the category, the remaining balance and the staff member who used the card, all in real time.
What does it cost to issue a card?
There is no monthly platform fee. Virtual cards are free to issue. Physical cards have a small issuance fee. There is no charge for transactions, category restrictions, freezes or limit changes.
Does card spending show up in my books?
Yes. Every card transaction posts against the staff member, the category and the budget it belongs to, and flows through to bookkeeping without a manual entry. The transaction history is searchable and exportable.
The rest of Pay
Paying out works best when every channel shares one balance, one approval flow and one audit trail. Each of these feeds the same account and spend record.
